Kling is dam right! Regulation is not important to this crisis, any crisis. Asking more regulation is like a nature reaction. Why do we have this kind of nature reaction, or nature logic in the mind?
And, the media's reports are another interesting thing. Why they are so united on this issue? They are supposed to show the thinking of the society, I mean every kind option. Do we all think we need more regulation now? Or just the media want us to think so?
The claim that this crisis was caused by "deregulation" is a claim that government needs to exercise more power. Right now, that is the conventional wisdom of the establishment. There is no mainstream newspaper or politician raising any doubts about the wisdom of increasing government power. The free market is now a fringe phenomenon, and those of us who support it are irrelevant.
